This Advertisement Policy outlines the types of advertising we accept, our review process, and the responsibilities of advertisers who choose to promote products or services on our platform.
1. Advertising Philosophy
As a faith-based news platform, we believe advertising should benefit our audience by providing useful, ethical, and value-aligned information. All advertising must be:
- Truthful and not misleading;
- Respectful of Islamic morals and cultural values;
- Compliant with Ghanaian laws and regulations.
We reserve the right to refuse, reject, or remove any advertisement that does not align with our editorial mission or Islamic principles.
2. Prohibited Content
We do not accept advertisements that promote, depict, or are associated with the following:
- Alcohol, pork products, or any other Islamically prohibited (haram) items;
- Tobacco, recreational drugs, or related paraphernalia;
- Pornographic, sexually explicit, or suggestive material;
- Gambling, betting, or lottery services;
- Political campaigns or parties unless for neutral awareness purposes and with balanced coverage;
- Hate speech, discrimination, or inflammatory content targeting any religion, ethnicity, or nationality;
- Products or services with deceptive, exaggerated, or unverified claims;
- Content that promotes unethical financial practices, including usury (riba).
3. Permissible Advertisements
We welcome advertisements that are:
- Family-friendly and culturally appropriate;
- Promoting halal products and services (e.g., Islamic finance, modest fashion, halal food, education, etc.);
- Supporting health, wellness, education, and community development;
- Local or small business promotions that benefit the Ghanaian Muslim community;
- Public service announcements from verified NGOs and public agencies.
4. Advertising Placement & Labeling
- Advertisements will be clearly distinguished from editorial content using the label “Sponsored” or “Advertisement”.
- Placement of ads does not imply editorial endorsement by the Ghanaian Minaret.
- Sponsored content or native advertising must be transparently disclosed and must comply with the same values and standards as regular ads.
5. Review & Approval Process
All advertisements are subject to pre-publication review. We assess:
- Compliance with Ghana’s advertising regulations;
- Alignment with Islamic ethical standards;
- Accuracy of claims and clarity of the message.
We may request additional documentation or disclaimers from advertisers before approval.
6. Advertiser Responsibilities
Advertisers are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring the accuracy and legality of their advertising materials;
- Not infringing on intellectual property rights;
- Honoring all claims, offers, or guarantees made in their ads;
- Providing truthful contact and business information.
Failure to comply may result in the suspension or permanent ban of advertising privileges.
7. Reporting Inappropriate Ads
Our users can report ads they believe are inappropriate or in violation of our values. Reports can be submitted via:
