Agogo – The Zongo Community of Agogo in the Asante Akyem North Constituency in the Ashanti region rejected donations made by the Member of Parliament(MP) for the area over the weekend.

The move was to register their displeasure over failed promises by the lawmaker, Andy Appiah Kubi.

It was chaotic at a local mosque at Agogo Zongo on Saturday after a delegation led by the District Chief Executive, Francis Oti Boateng went to present some donations to the Muslim community ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitir celebrations on behalf of the MP.

The Zongo Community had accused the MP for the area of failing to honour campaign promises including fixing their roads.

Audio-visuals sighted showed the angry town folks conveying the items presented, into a white pick-up vehicle as their leaders watched on.

The town folks booed, shooed and chanted ‘We are not chicken’ as the delegation made their way out of the premises.

The visibly angry youth have vowed to reject any item presented until the New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament fulfilled his promises.

“He promised to fix our roads in two weeks, it’s past two years and he has not fulfilled the promise. We have been neglected over the years and we will not sit down for politicians to deceive us”, explained a visibly angry opinion leader.

Meanwhile, efforts to get the MP or his close associates for comments yielded no results. The MP himself was not part of the delegation at the time the incident happened.
