Hajj 2027: Ghana begins Hajj registration, maintains fare at GHS60,000
Accra: The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has commenced registration for the 2027 Hajj with the official announcement of a GHS60,000 pilgrimage fare.
The fare remains unchanged from the amount charged for the 2026 Hajj, the office assured the public in a statement issued on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
The office said registration and payment for the 2027 pilgrimage would be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis until Ghana’s allocated quota was exhausted.
It advised prospective pilgrims to complete their payments and submit all required documentation early to avoid difficulties associated with last-minute preparations.
“Alhaji Abdul-Rauf Tanko Ibrahim, Chairman of PAOG/Ghana Hajj Board, advises all intending pilgrims to complete their payments and submit all required documentation early to avoid last-minute difficulties,” the statement read.
The PAOG said payments must be made only through accredited Hajj agents using the official PAOG payment code or directly to the office through its official Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) accounts.
It cautioned prospective pilgrims against making payments through unapproved channels, saying the office would not be responsible for transactions conducted outside the authorised payment arrangements.
The Office also warned the public against dealing with unaccredited agents and intermediaries in the registration and payment process.
“This warning is to protect prospective pilgrims from fraud,” the statement said.
The PAOG said maintaining the approved payment channels was part of measures to promote transparency and safeguard pilgrims during the registration process.
It further assured prospective pilgrims of its commitment to ensuring a “safe, transparent, and successful Hajj” and building on the gains made during the 2026 pilgrimage.
The announcement gives prospective pilgrims an opportunity to begin preparations and secure their places ahead of the exhaustion of Ghana’s allocation for the 2027 Hajj.
