Ibrahim Mahama volunteers to settle debt of Muslim victims in helicopter crash

Accra: Ibrahim Mahama, a Ghanaian businessman and a brother of President John Dramani Mahama, has volunteered to settle the debt of two Muslim victims of the helicopter crash.
This was announced during the Janaza prayers for the victims, Alhaji Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, and Alhaji Mohammed Limuna Muniru, national security coordinator, who lost their lives on August 6, 2025.
The funeral prayer (Janaza), led by the national chief Imam, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu, was observed by Muslim sympathisers and relatives at the forecourt of the state.
The ceremony was also witnessed by non-Muslim mourners and other dignitaries, including the president, Vice President Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, Speaker of Parliament Alban Kingsford Bagbin and other ministers.
The bodies of the two were later moved to the military cemetery in Accra for burial.
