MP Muntaka Shows up at Kumasi Maulid despite accident
Kumasi – A member of the Muslim Caucus of Parliament, Member of Parliament (MP) for Asawase Constituency, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed appeared to have recovered well from a motor accident as he managed to attend the Maulid celebration in Kumasi on Saturday.
The MP who is also the minority chief whip and his colleague, Ahmed Ibrahim MP for Banda, were reported to have been involved in an accident which occurred at about 9 am on Saturday at Kubease near Konongo.
The two were said to have been on a trip from Accra to Sunyani for a funeral when their vehicle had to skid off the road in order to avoid a head-on collision with a vehicle that made an unauthorized U-turn on the highway.
This resulted in serious damage to the SUV vehicle that had occupants transported to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for further treatment.
Alhaji Muntaka showed up at the birthday celebration of the Holy Prophet accompanying former President, John Dramani Mahama who interacted with other dignitaries such as the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Nuhu Sharubutu and Vice President, Dr Mahmudu Bawumia at the event.
