Hajj 2027: Pilgrims Affairs Office announces dates, venues for compulsory medical screening

Accra: The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana has commenced mandatory medical screening for prospective pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at designated centres across the country.
The compulsory exercise was a prerequisite for the processing of Hajj visas, requiring all prospective pilgrims to obtain medical clearance before proceeding with their pilgrimage preparations.
The medical screening fee has been fixed at GH¢650 per pilgrim.
Prospective pilgrims are required to present a valid travel passport and their passport number, and have been advised to ensure that their passport details are accurate and readily available at the time of screening.
To prevent overcrowding and ensure an orderly process, pilgrims travelling through Hajj travel agents have been directed to contact their respective agents to book appointments on their behalf.
Direct-payment and protocol pilgrims are to contact the Ghana Hajj Board Secretariat to obtain their assigned appointment dates, the Office said in a statement.
For pilgrims in Tamale the screening exercise is taking place at the Ummah Medical, Jisonayili, from October 3 to November 15, 2026.
In Kumasi, screening will take place at the Kumasi Central Mosque from October 10 to November 15, while the Accra exercise will be held at the Hajj Village from October 15 to November 15.
Other centres are Quality Medical Centre, Bawku, October 20–22; Bawku Presby Hospital, October 23; Bolgatanga Regional Hospital, October 24–25; Baptist Medical Centre, Nalerigu, October 27–28; and Yendi Municipal Hospital, October 30–31.
Screening will also be conducted at Salaga Government Hospital from November 2–3, Wa Municipal Library from November 6–12, and NY Kramo Community Centre, Techiman, from November 15–16.
The Board urged all prospective pilgrims to adhere strictly to their assigned appointment dates and screening schedules and to complete the process within the stipulated period.
The announcement is part of preparations for the 2027 Hajj, following the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana’s recent closure of payments to prevent oversubscription and ensure that confirmed pilgrims remain within Ghana’s approved quota.
