Accra: The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has officially closed registration for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage with immediate effect, after concluding all operational processes including payments, documentation and receipt of passports.

A statement signed by Alhaji Mohammed Amin Lamptey Hussein, Director of Communications, said the registration exercise and submission of passports were duly completed on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

It stressed that only prospective pilgrims who submitted their passports and all required documents within the stipulated period were captured for the visa processing stage, noting that “visa processing could not commence without full compliance with the documentation requirements.”

The Office emphasised that early payment of fees, mandatory medical screening and prompt passport submission remained critical to smooth operations, explaining that “early payment, medical screening, and timely submission of passports are measures that significantly streamline Hajj operations.”

According to the statement, medical screening for intending pilgrims has been successfully completed in selected regions and centres nationwide, while the remaining screenings for the Ashanti and Greater Accra regions have been scheduled for February 22 and February 28 respectively.

The Administration advised prospective pilgrims and other stakeholders to await further official communication on the next phases of the pilgrimage arrangements, urging them to comply with all subsequent directives when announced.
