MP Muntaka Mubarak loses Mother
Aboabo: The Minister of Interior, Muntaka Mubarak, has lost his 83-year-old mother, Hajia Saudatu Suleiman Muntaka, on Monday afternoon.
The minister, who is also the member of Parliament for the Asawase constituency, announced the passing of his mother via his Facebook page.
“It is with a heavy heart that I announce to the general public the passing of my beloved mother, Hajia Saudatu Sulemana Muntaka. She died after a short illness. May Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Jannatul Firdaus,” the post read.
Her Janaza (Islamic funeral prayer) is scheduled to take place tomorrow morning at the Aboabo post office park in the Ashanti Region.
She died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on a day when the newly sworn-in minister had reported to work at the Interior Ministry.
He had met the directors, management, and staff of the ministry where he shared his vision for the ministry.
He also welcomed feedback from bureaucrats with whom he will be working to keep Ghana safe.
