Naser Toure, late NDC MP for Ayawaso East to be buried on January 5

Accra: Naser Toure Mahama, the late Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso East Constituency will be buried on Monday January 5, 2026.
His Janaza (funeral prayers), to be led by the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu, will be taking place near the MP’s constituency office on the Kanda Highway at 10 am.
He will later be buried at the Madina Muslim cemetery in Accra.
The late MP, affectionately called Mac Naza passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2025 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after battling an undisclosed illness.
Naser Toure Mahama, born on March 17, 1965, in Nima, Accra, was a seasoned politician who represented the Ayawaso East Constituency in the Greater Accra Region on the ticket of the NDC.
He first entered Parliament in 2012 after winning the seat in the general elections and was re-elected in subsequent polls.
In the 2024 elections, he garnered over 70 per cent of the votes, while his opponent, Zak Rahman, got 29.15 per cent.
While in Parliament, he has served as vice chairperson of the Energy committee and a member of the Roads and Transportation committee, among other portfolios.
