Accra – The Nima Association of New York (NANNY) has donated 14 dialysis machines to 14 community clinics in Accra.

The beneficiary clinics include the Nima Clinic, Mamobi Clinic, Yaro Clinic, Rayan Clinic and Lapaz Clinic.

The association also donated a number of beds to the 14 clinics.

The immediate past President of NANNY, Mr Ahmed Alhassan Muhammed, presented the items at the Nima Clinic and said the donation was to ease the burden of patients who had to spend a lot of money to receive dialysis treatment.
He stated for example that if the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital charged GH¢50 for the dialysis treatment, the beneficiary clinics could charge less.
Mr Muhammed made a commitment to solicit more equipment for the health facilities to facilitate their operations.

Members of NANNY, who are Ghanaians from Nima living in the United States of America (USA), also used the occasions to reiterate their support and commitment towards giving a facelift to Nima and other deprived communities.

Representatives of the beneficiary clinics thanked members of NANNY for the gesture and promised to put the equipment to good use.
