Palestinian embassy supports Ghanaian Muslim families
Accra – The Embassy of Palestine in Ghana on Friday donated bags of rice to some 600 Muslim families in commemoration of the holy month of Ramadhan.
The gesture was also to show appreciation to Ghanaians for their love and solidarity with the Palestinian people over the years.
Abdal Fattah Ahmed. Khalil Alsatarri, Ambassador of Palestine to Ghana said the support was a contribution from friends and loved ones of the Palestinian people.
“This is my second home; I see the Ghanaian people as my family, and I am happy to share with them all we have” he said.
Sheikh Aremeyaw Shuaib, the spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, expressed appreciation to the Ambassador and described the gesture as a true example of faith defying injustice and oppression to reach out.
“We must be mindful of our common humanity, understand our needs and extend a hand of support to those who through no fault of theirs have found themselves in difficult circumstances,” he said. to some Muslims in Ghana.
“If a nation under oppression could still get some food and cater for the needs of people in society, it means whatever small we have could be shared,” he said.
Also present at the ceremony was Kwesi Pratt, the Managing Editor of Pan-African Television urged the Muslim community to use the fasting period to pray for world peace amid ongoing global turmoil.
