President Mahama, Dr Bawumia jointly support Sheikh Abdullai Maikano Educational Complex project

Prang: Leaders of the two dominant political parties in Ghana have made giant gestures towards the construction of the Sheikh Abdullai Maikano Educational Complex in Prang, Bono East region.
President John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) donated 200 bags of cement, while Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), pledged 500 cement bags to support the ongoing project.
The two made the gestures during the 50th edition of the Maulid (celebration of the birth) of Sheikh Ahmed Tijani, a revered Algerian scholar who founded the Tijaniyya Sufi order.
The annual event was organised by Sheikh Khalifa Ahmad Abul Faidi Maikano Jallo, the Supreme Leader and President of the Tijaniyya Muslim Council of Ghana (TMCOG) and son of the late influential cleric, Sheikh Abdullahi Ahmed Maikano Jallo.
Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, minister for the interior, represented the president during the occasion and inspected the building project on Friday.

He also presented 50 bags of rice, bottled mineral water, cooking oil, one cow, and GHS 20,000 as the president’s contribution to the successful celebration.
The minister advised the Muslim community to aspire higher in life and work towards achieving their dreams with obedience to Allah and sacrifices for their goals.
“Don’t be the hunting dog of any politician,” he said, urging the zongo community to shy away from being tools of perpetuating violence.
Dr Bawumia at a vigil held on Saturday pledged to support the project and asked the congregation to remember him in their prayers and prayed for excellent health, long life and peace for the country
