The exercise ended on Friday, June 27, 2025, with the arrival of the last return flight from Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Kotoka International Airport in Accra at about 17 hours GMT.
About 5800 Ghanaian Muslims were among the 1.6 million pilgrims worldwide who participated in this year’s hajj pilgrimage.
After a month-long stay in the Kingdom, some 14 flights were deployed to return the pilgrims to Tamale in the Northern Region and Accra, the capital city.
The exercise began on June 20, 2025, and ended on June 27, 2025.
So far, some seven pilgrims have been reported dead and buried, with some still receiving treatment for various ailments.
