Tamale: The first flight of Ghanaian pilgrims from Saudi Arabia has returned home safely on Friday.
The flight, carrying 423 pilgrims, landed at the Tamale International Airport at 10:11 pm.
It departed the Abdul Aziz International Airport-Jeddah at 3:37pm, the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has indicated.
The Hajj organising body has scheduled 16 flights to return Ghanaian pilgrims from Saudi Arabia from June 12 to June 24, 2026, as the Hajj 2026 season draws to a close.
PAOG announced the provisional flight schedule after consultations with NASSAIR, the official airline for Ghana’s Hajj operations this year.
Under the arrangement, NASSAIR will operate seven flights to Tamale International Airport from June 12 to June 18 and nine flights to Accra International Airport in Accra from June 18 to June 24.
