Madinah: The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has scheduled 16 flights to return Ghanaian pilgrims from Saudi Arabia between June 12 and June 24, 2026, as Hajj 2026 season draws to a close.

PAOG announced the provisional flight schedule after consultations with NASSAIR, the official airline for Ghana’s Hajj operations this year.

Under the arrangement, NASSAIR will operate seven flights to Tamale International Airport from June 12 to June 18 and nine flights to Accra International Airport in Accra from June 18 to June 24.

In a statement signed by Director of Communications Mohammed Amin Lamptey, the office urged pilgrims, the Ghana Hajj Agents Association (GHAA), and other stakeholders to take note of the schedule and prepare accordingly.

The statement indicated that each pilgrim will receive two “luggage bags”, however, pilgrims are reminded that each bag must not exceed 23 kilograms, giving every pilgrim a total baggage allowance of 46 kilograms.

The office announced that officials will begin weighing luggage on June 8 and advised pilgrims to comply with the baggage requirements to avoid delays during the return process.

PAOG reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on luggage belonging to pilgrims who chose to return to Ghana through private travel arrangements before their scheduled PAOG flights.

“We will not accept bags belonging to pilgrims who have made private arrangements to return home ahead of the official flight schedule,” PAOG stated.

The office also cautioned the public against misinformation regarding return flights and other Hajj-related matters.

PAOG urged pilgrims and their families to rely on official updates and disregard what it described as “fake and unverified allegations and information” circulating from unofficial sources.

The office assured stakeholders that it remains available to provide clarification and additional information throughout the return operation.
