Mustapha Abdul-Hamid loses Mum

Accra: Hajia Adama Musah, the mother of former Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, has passed away after a short illness.

The family announced her death in a statement issued on Friday, June 12, 2026.

“Our beloved mother, aunt and grandmother, Hajia Adama Musah, mother of Shaykh Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, former chief executive of NPA and former minister of state, has sadly passed on today, Friday, 12th June 2026, after a short illness,” the statement said..

The late Hajia Adama Musah was described by the family as a cherished mother, aunt and grandmother whose passing has left relatives, friends and well-wishers in mourning.

According to the statement, family members and sympathisers will hold Janaza (Islamic funeral) prayers on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Police Mosque in Cantonments, Accra, at 10:00 a.m.

After the funeral prayers, mourners will proceed to the Madina Muslim Cemetery for her burial.

The family has extended an invitation to friends, associates and sympathisers to join them in paying their final respects.

“All friends and sympathisers are cordially invited,” the statement noted.

The death occurred at a time when the former minister of information is campaigning to become the national vice chairman of the New Patriotic Party in the upcoming internal elections scheduled for September.
