Muslim stakeholders to confer on Hajj management in August
Accra: Muslim stakeholder groups will be converging in Accra in August next month for a national dialogue on having a new Hajj management policy framework.
The programme will take place from August 24 to August 25, under the theme “Hajj Reforms: Prioritising Transparency, Accountability, and Best Practice.”
The framework is intended to promote transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in the administration of Hajj in the country.
Expected stakeholders to attend the dualogue include representatives from various sects, Muslim chiefs, media houses, non-governmental organisations, academia, and professional groups.
Ahead of the event, a one-day workshop will be organised on July 27, 2024, to solicit input into the draft Hajj Management Policy Framework.
The Coalition of Muslim Organisations Ghana (COMOG), in a press statement, has called on individuals or groups seeking to participate to reach out.
“Join us as we work together for sustainable Hajj management and administration that will uphold the values of Islam in Ghana.
“Interested individuals and/or groups in the National Stakeholder Dialogue on Hajj Management in Ghana may send their full names, profession, town or city, and WhatsApp number to Hajjdialogue@gmail.com or WhatsApp 0544617333 to receive an invitation,” the statement highlighted.
The event is being organised by COMOG under the auspices of the Office of the National Chief Imam.
