Ghanaians must emulate the ideals of Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission – John Mahama

Gomoa, Central Region: President John Dramani Mahama says the long-held ideals of order and discipline exhibited by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission were worth emulating by all Ghanaians.
He observed that these ideals, which appeared to be in short supply among citizens, are much needed, “especially as we navigate the challenges that lie ahead of us as a country.”
The president was speaking at the 92nd annual convention of the Mission, which was held at Gomoa Pomadze in the Central region on January 9, 2025.
The three-day event was held on the theme: “Justice and peace—the essential ingredients for national development.”
He urged all Ghanaians to contribute to a just and peaceful society, which are the bedrock of national aspirations.
“Justice must not always be done but must be seen to be done and felt by all,” he said.
He said the NDC administration was committed to strengthening the justice system to ensure judicial independence and address systemic inequalities.
Alhaji Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, Ameer (Head) and Missionary-in-charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, has advised the newly elected government against political and economic nepotism and cronyism.
He warned that nepotism and cronyism bred injustice and posed a significant threat to national peace and security.
Alhaji Bin Salih observed that the dangers of nepotism were as dire as racism, lamenting the high incidence of nepotism in the governance of Ghana.
He reminded President Mahama that his dramatic election to the high office under the turbulent circumstances in the history of the country indicated the high expectations of the people.
“The goodwill Ghanaians have shown you through emphatically endorsing you as president must be seen to have spoken loudly that Ghanaians are no more in the mood of giving the abuse of their emotions and trampling upon their rights to God.”.
