Interim ASWAJ Imam urges social media commentators to fear Allah

Tamale: The Northern Regional Imam of Ahlussunna Wal Jama’a (ASWAJ) Ghana says he has accepted the position of interim National Imam of ASWAJ.
He announced his decision in a post-Jumah press briefing and promised to give of his best.
Sheikh Basha was appointed by the National Dawah Council (NADAC) of ASWAJ after it removed Hajj Umar Ibrahim through a vote of no confidence.
“I accept it with both hands, and I will try my best to ensure that everything falls in line,” he said.
He urged online commentators, including scholars to be conscious of Allah in their commentaries.
He encouraged them to make statements that enjoin good and foster peace and tranquillity among the Mislim community.
“If you want to say something, say something positive,” he said in reference to the Hadith of the prophet.
NADAC, under Article 11(3) of the ASWAJ Constitution, removed the National Imam through a vote of no confidence.
The decision was supported by more than two-thirds of the membership of the council.
Some 21 members voted in favour of the motion, while four members were absent.
