Makkah : The Holy Makkah Municipality has approved 3,149 official housing permits for the Hajj 2025/1446 AH season.
This is to ensure a safe and comfortable residential environment through adherence to all necessary technical and regulatory standards.
The approved permits encompass 428,289 residential rooms across a total area of 7,635,086 square metres, enabling accommodation for over 1,867,215 pilgrims, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
This significant capacity demonstrates the municipality’s efforts to optimise space and ensure high-quality, safe residential services.
Aligned with its core mission, the municipality affirmed this step guarantees the highest levels of preparedness in pilgrim housing.
The approval is also considered a key step to ongoing commitment to improving pilgrim welfare.
According to the SPA, the municipality’s strict regulatory requirements include verifying building permits and approved architectural plans and reviewing safety reports, emergency stairs, and electrical generators, as well as ensuring maintenance agreements and staff safety training.
The framework ensures efficient operations and improves the overall quality of life and services within the Hajj environment.
